The immediate results of the research activities are in terms of contribution to the development of novel modified biomaterials from natural resources for water purification and control systems to enable their targeted and efficient use. The proposed groundwater treatment system has the potential to circumvent the restrictions of contemporary treatment facilities, and have less reliance on expensive infrastructure. Accordingly, the system represents an opportunity for commercialisation both in manufacture, and in the delivery of safe water to businesses, agriculture, and domestic users in Oman within the country’s water resource management targets. Dissemination of research by publication, conferences, and the media will aim to target organisations with an interest in further development, commercialisation, or international infrastructure development.
